Market Manager, Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance
The Market Manager will be responsible for the daily operations of two Seattle neighborhood farmers markets. The position will require approximately 20-25 hours/week and requires weekend and evening availability. The possibility exists for promotion to a salaried position with a benefits package after the first 6 months of employment. Job responsibilities include:
- Set up the market daily including market layout, tent set-up, signage, street closure barricades, etc.
- Knowledge of WA state seasonal foods and food systems.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to shoppers, vendors, community members, and volunteers.
- Enforce NFMA market policies and assist vendors in complying with laws and regulations from relevant agencies such as the Washington State Department of Agriculture and King County Health Department.
- Supervise EBT (food stamps) benefits redemption on-site and maintain accurate records.
- Supervise Market Assistants and deliver constructive and timely feedback as needed.
- Track market and vendor sales, vendor mix, and other metrics related to market day.
- Maintain a pleasant and positive market atmosphere.

Operations and Development Manager, Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance
The Outreach and Development Manager is responsible for coordinating on-site special events, sponsorship, fundraising events, and community outreach for our 7 Farmers Markets. This position is full time (32 hours/week), year round, and includes salary and benefits. Job responsibilities include:
- Plan and coordinate 8-10 market events featuring local produce, cooking demonstrations, produce tastings, and kids’ activities, as well as market openings and other occasional activities.
- Engage chefs, community groups, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors to promote and execute on-site events.
- Create recipe hand outs and event-related educational materials and collateral.
- Create and execute event marketing plans including press releases, social media, and printed matter.
- Coordinate on-site sponsorship events and negotiations, if applicable.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising and cultivation events including our annual fundraiser, the Incredible Feast
