Broadway Showcase & Sing-Along
The 32nd Street Singers are back at the Royal Room for another fun and lively show. Our BROADWAY SHOWCASE & SING-ALONG features tunes from musicals you know and love: Guys & Dolls, West Side Story, Music Man, Hamilton, Mama Mia, Les Miz, Sound of Music, The Fantasticks, Oklahoma, Cabaret and of course, Spam-a-Lot. Come prepared to belt out memorable classics and show off your whistling.
We will have two shows, Sun. June 9th and Wed. June 19th, to benefit the valuable work of the South Hudson Music Project and the Royal Room!
The South Hudson Music Project is a new not-for-profit organization, established in 2018, with the express purpose of making the Royal Room sustainable, and supporting and refining its mission. Small and local venues have always struggled, but in the new era of digital distractions, and a tight economy for artists, the scale and community orientation of venues like the Royal Room is more important than ever. We need live music, and we need people coming together. Local venues are essential cultural institutions for any city, and they need the support of their community to sustain and grow.
The 32nd Street Singers, an 8-part harmony group known for lively concerts and a good blend, are a good example of a local group, which has had more opportunities thanks to The Royal Room. This is meaningful because the core of the group started singing together at our own Franklin High School a few decades ago. Come have fun and support the Royal Room.
